My Naija friend showed me this video. It is quite absurd, talking all about how Ghanaians are so happy they are not Nigerians. The song is by two guys who call themselves the FOKN Boys. They can’t even get their grammar correct.
The story behind the song goes back to soccer. A match between Ghana and Nigeria was scheduled to hold in London this week. The FOKN Boys released this song to spark the rivalry. The match was cancelled because of the riots plaguing London right now. I am trying to come up with a reaction song, “Thanks God I’m not a Ghanaians.” Any ideas? There will be a diplomatic brohaha about this matta.
The start of a diplomatic breakdown

These guys are just attention seekers; they know mentioning Nigeria in their video will let them sell more copies because people just love Nigeria.
Hey Titilayo,
Here is the response to Ghanians http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5miYlIvoKXc
“Thank God we not a Nigerians” aka Thank God We not Ghanians” check out the lyrics below the video
I don’t know what all the brohaha is all aboutio, I found the song absolutely amusing and hilarious…
I think the guys are just a bunch of clowns trying to get their groove on, we should take the song at face value and not think much of it.
Tenk God I’m not A Nigereaanns, what a laff 🙂
Haha, love it! Great find, it’s absolutely hilarious! So many negative comments and ratings on youtube though; we Nigerians need a little sense of humor. Apparently, even though we poke fun at ourselves, we don’t like other people, especially those Ghanaians, doing so.
Yeah, ideas for ‘tenk God we’re not a Ghanaians?” For one they need to find other names for their kids rather than Kofi and Nene lol
Cara, It is not a new trend of thinking to some Ghanians, … the majority of Ghanians are more realistic of their relationship with Nigeria. You simply have to understand where they are coming from to understand the sentiment. It all go back to the late 70s when Ghanians in their thousands (mind you not millions as there are not that many millions of Ghanians anyway…) came to take refuge in Nigeria from the economic woes of their country. I guess they are still unable to come to terms with th fact that they have to seek assistance from their Big Brother Nigeria. Many Ghanians will argue that Nigerians are today making Ghana their home, yes, because Nigerians are always looking out further afield for opportunities and couple with the fact that Nigeria is also sufering a form of downturn, though not compared with that of the Ghanians in the 70s. Lets throw in some statistics for clarity : Ghana’s population is less than that of the city of Lagos alone, the Ghanian GDP is less than that of Lagos alone ….. Ghana is not in any way comparable to Nigeria. If it is right to say this, Ghana will forever be playing catchup to Nigeria.
KOLA.
People pls don’t let us get ourselves worked up over nothing. If 2 stupid boys trying to gain cheap publicity wiLl unnecessary incite us Nigerians against our Ghanain brothers, I strongly think that shows lack of strong judgement on our part as Nigerians. I am pretty sure their views about Nigeria is not/can not be shared by the millions in Ghana.
In these troubled times when we should be working on bridge building, we should not engage in unnecessary debates.
Thank God am from Ghana….Ghana ke over my dead body
Ghana, although not the capital of Nigeria, is of somewhat relevance mainly due to the useful carrier bags the area made popular and also a well known type of bread.
Envy. Pure envy.
sssssssh( sound of me kissing my naija teeth). Song’s stupid. Kenke is the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. kwasie!!
Nice one Sisi london ur description said it all. Ghana ke? oga o! Charlie! rotfl…as a matter of fact GHANA MUST GO!
Every small Country should mind their business and leave Nigeria along.
Thank God I am a Nigerian not Ghanian. The blood of Innocent thousands of people killed by Ghanians is crying for justice. Thank God i am not a Ghanian.
hahaha..that’s okay as nobody even knows for sure what/where ghana is. FYI it’s a tiny land without any significant achievement to date with a total population of only two men called kwaku and kofi :-p
lol is it sad that I actually like the song?? although, I haven’t figured out why the Liberian bit is in there.
Titi can’t you see that this ones are hungry and don’t sing sense? i think they just want attention and we 9ija’s don’t have time for that. We should flex our muscles on things more important with the enormous resources God has blessed us with, cos we’re unique and specially made by God himself.
We are just the best and they are copy cats……i can imagine this same people came into Nigeria years back with there gana must go bags. Me i no blame dem sha o, make we sef make our country develop and move on.
