As a budding journalist, I want to incorporate reporting into this blog. In Ibadan and elsewhere in Nigeria I will seek out stories about people, politics, the economy, events or whatever I think is newsworthy. In the U.S. the media reports all of the bad, depressing news from Africa, but there is so much happiness too. I will strive to portray the truth. You will be sure to see plenty of photos, slideshows and videos here too.
This page has the following sub pages.
so glad to read about you
Hi Titi, you are sorely missed in Nigeria. Please when are you able to return?
Great job!!!
ms cara (aka titilayo ) most journalists can report stories , but to immerse oneself in the culture to understand the region is truly remarkable. for one so young and yet so wise ….don”t lose your ability to push the envelope and ask the question every one is avoiding ..i see a pulitzer in your future..take care.

Titi,
You are a STAR.
Thank you so much for inspiring me. I have been converted by your inspirational sojourn. I have shied away from speaking what i would like to call the “authentic” Yoruba, (the one you, a foreigner, speak so beautifully), for a long time because it was accepted in Nigeria that to be seen and perceived as an intellectual and a well educated Nigerian, the more adept you are at speaking English and the less proficient you are in Yoruba (or any other native language), the more intellectual and the more “posh” that you are.
Actually, that practice has affected my ability to speak my own language well. Even my kids, are worse off because, I do not communicate to them in Yoruba.
The works and examples of you and your other colleagues should be praised, celebrated and emulated.
Keep on the good work and God bless you.
